Satan Attacks with Fear and Worry

Stand Firmly on the Gospel

The Gospel provides a firm grip on our position in the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Roman soldier’s sandles had cleats on the bottom to aid in traction.

The Gospel provides a sure footing against fear and worry.

It is the Gospel of Peace with God.

(ESV) 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.

21 And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, 22 he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him, 23 if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister.

When anxiety arises remind yourself of your position with God based on the Gospel.

You are his child - (ESV) For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba!

The Gospel demonstrates God’s position toward you,

He is for you! (ESV) What then shall we say to these things?

If God is for us, who can be against us?

He will provide for you! 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?

You stand free from condemnation!

33 Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect?

It is God who justifies.

34 Who is to condemn?

Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.

You cannot be separated from his love!

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?

Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?

Seek For the Advance of the Gospel

Through the proclamation of the Gospel.
