We are commanded to love God

4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:

5 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

We are commanded to Love God and when you love something you have a desire for it.

Reason I have be thinking about this

When you love someone you desire to know them, to be with them, to talk to them, and when you get a letter from them you don’t toss it onto your desk and let it get buried under all your work and forgotten.

What should I do when my heart really doesn’t care that much about God? What if I find no joy in God or learning to know him?

Is it hypocritical to force myself to read His letters?
