Favor From the Father

, , , , ,
Our text demonstrates that God, the Father chose Abraham. Not only did he choose Abraham but He also blessed Abraham. When he blessed Abraham he spoke and declared the blessing over his children and his children, children. Establishing that he would be with each generation in a way that he would not with any other nation. To the extent that Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the Son of the Living God would come out of the children of Abraham.
As we see in our text of Jacob’s final days, every father is obligated to decree and release "the blessing" upon his children. In fact, the father determines whether a blessing or curse is passed down to his seed. Children are seed of the father and whatever state the father is in state is passed on to the seed. The father releases the destiny over the seed. Destiny is in the loins and in the tongue of the father. What we do and how we live impacts the outcome and destiny of the seed. As we see with several of Jacob’s sons, our God is just and fair that even when we live righteous and our seed lives unrighteous, we cannot pass a blessing that they don’t deserve. We can’t bless what God calls cursed and we can’t curse what the Father called blessed.
I will bless you
And make your name great;
And you shall be a blessing.

3I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you;
God the Father, spoke the destiny of all things into order and existence by the words of his mouth in the beginning of CREATION! The same power and responsibility now lies in the possession of every man. To demonstrate His love toward us, God the Father, passed down his greatest blessing when He sent his Son, born of a woman, wrapped in swaddling clothes to partake of the cross. He passed the covenant blessing to each of us who would accept Jesus. Now, according to the Scriptures, we have been made children of the Father of Heaven and Earth.
The Legacy Of Jesus
We’ve been Favored by the Father in the legacy that He passed down to us through Jesus Christ. Jesus is our Mediator. Jesus in our High Priest. Jesus is our Example. Jesus is our Savior. The Father pass down legacy to the seed. We see in Jesus a legacy of fulfillment passed down from the Father to us. Touch three people, male or female, and tell them, “Leave a legacy like Jesus”. Pass down greatness. Pass down honor. Pass down equality. Pass down hope. Pass down a good name. Jesus was obedient to the Father. Jesus was faithful to the Father. Jesus was a servant of the Father. Jesus was a friend to the friendless. Leave a legacy like Jesus.
The Word
The Four L’s of Legacy. The Four L’s of Legacy are four characteristics of Jesus that if each of us reflect, we will walk in favor and pass down favor to the next generation. The Four L’s of Legacy of LOVE. LIVE. LEAD. AND LEAVE.
The four L’s of Legacy
LOVE LIKE JESUS - God is the epitome of love.
: says, “God is love”...
God’s love is steadfast (unconditional)
NKJV Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
Jesus loved us when we were wrong/sin
LIVE LIKE JESUS - Jesus lived sacrificially.
1 John 3:16 NKJV
By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
John 10:11 NKJV
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.
John 15:13 NKJV
Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
Galatians 2:20 NKJV
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
(NKJV)
20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
LEAD LIKE JESUS - Jesus led as a Shepherd
...
Lead with the Word
Lead according to the Word
LEAVE LIKE JESUS - Jesus left the world for the Kingdom
John 16:33 NKJV
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
1 John 5:4–5 NKJV
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
1 John 4:4–5 NKJV
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them.
Hebrews 4:14–16 NKJV
Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

LAY & LOOSE
Luke 13:10–13 NKJV
Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.” And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
