Jacob’s story reminds us that dishonesty and betrayal may offer short-term advantages, but they ultimately breed distrust, hostility, and broken relationships. In this sermon, we explore how Jacob and Laban’s deception created a cycle of harm and consider how Jesus calls us to respond differently. Rather than repaying wrong with retaliation, we can follow Jesus’ example by choosing love, even toward those who hurt us, and break the cycle of hostility.
