7. Anger & Self-Control

Proverbs 14:29; 15:18; 16:32
Proverbs 16:32 CSB
32 Patience is better than power, and controlling one’s emotions, than capturing a city.
Proverbs 15:18 CSB
18 A hot-tempered person stirs up conflict, but one slow to anger calms strife.
Proverbs 14:29 CSB
29 A patient person shows great understanding, but a quick-tempered one promotes foolishness.
We live in a world where there is a lot of anger. People are angry about politics, about traffic, about thier finances. People are listening to increasingly violent and tv shows showing people who have no self control being heroes. Anger is seen as power in our world but the Bible tells us it is a weakness.
Matthew 5:9 CSB
9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
Peace not anger shows us to be one of God’s children.
