Slide 1

Morning, welcome… etc.
Can anyone tell me what day it is today?
Father’s day – excellent
This morning we are going to think about what a perfect dad would be like…
What do you like best about your dad?
[take some answers]
But our dads aren’t perfect are they? They make mistakes don’t they?
What do you think a perfect dad would be like?
Jesus in tells a little story to help us understand what the perfect is like…

Slides 2-7

- [Work through the slides as a story, breakfast, lunch, dinner…]

Slide 8

So imagine that your dad had given you
rocks for breakfast
A scorpion for lunch
and a snake for dinner
What might you think about how your day feels about you?
He might not love you as much as you thought!
Luckily no loving dad would do that to their son or daughter!
No parent is perfect, all parents sin and do things wrong
And our dads might not give us we everything we want but they always make sure we have what we need, don’t they?
Jesus finishes his little story by saying something amazing!
He says…

Slide 9

in
Matthew 7:11 NIV
If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
This is amazing, fantastic, mind blowing!
If your dad is can give you what you need when you need it even though he make mistakes and sin and does bad stuff
Then you trust the perfect, loving God of the universe to give you what you need when you ask him even more!
more than you could ever imagine!
Team it is crazy to think that being a good christian is about trying harder, doing better, and depending on yourself, being better than the rest!
Being a christian is about releasing that we can’t do it by ourselves, we can’t do anything without God’s help.
I won’t lie, sometimes being a christian it so hard!.
But the good news is that our perfect heavenly dad know this,
and we can trust him to give us everything we need to be a follower of Jesus...
if only we trust him enough to ask!
-Not always what we want, or what we expect, but always exactly what we need.
-Because he is a loving, perfect Father!
-[End in Prayer]
