A GENERATION IN SEARCH OF FATHERHOOD

2 Corinthians 1:2–4 KJV 1900

2 Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. 3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; 4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE OF OUR TIME, BOTH MEN AND WOMEN, WHO HAVE BEEN ROBBED OF THE LOVE AND SECURITY OF BEING PARENTED. MANY PEOPLE IN THIS POSTMODERN AGE SUFFER FROM A DISTORTED CONCEPTION OF GOD BECAUSE THEIR EARTHLY PARENTS WERE ABUSIVE, CRITICAL, EMOTIONALLY DISTANT, OR ABSENT DURING THEIR FORMATIVE YEARS. OTHER SUFFER FROM THE BAD INFLUENCE OF A SOCIETY THAT SAYS TO THEM, FATHERHOOD IS DEAD. THE ROLE OF A FATHER MUST BE DEVALUED.

Proverbs 30:11 KJV 1900

11 There is a generation that curseth their father, And doth not bless their mother.

ITS INTERESTING THAT EVEN IN THE BIBLE WE CAN FIND SOME DISHEARTENING THINGS ABOUT ABOUT DEAR OLE DAD THE DRUNKENNESS OF NOAH , THE OVERSIGHT OF THE PRODIGAL FATHER WHO DIDN’T INVITED THE FAITHFUL SON TO THE PARTY CELEBRATING THE RETURN OF THE YOUNGER SON.

A GENERATION IN SEARCH OF FATHERHOOD MUST COME TO THE UNDERSTANDING THAT A FATHER TEACHES NOT ONLY BY THE GOOD THAT HE DOES BUT SOMETIMES BY THE MISTAKES HE MAKES.

FOR THOSE WHO MISS OR DONT KNOW YOUR FATHERS BE RESOLVED THAT YOU WILL LEARN TO BE THERE FOR YOUR CHILDREN, IF YOUR FATHER WAS LIKE NOAH LEARN TO BE SOBER

A FATHER TEACHES WHAT NOT TO DO AS MUCH AS HE TEACHES THE CORRECT METHOD TO DO THINGS

THE STORY THIS GENERATION LONGS TO HEAR IS A STORY OF A FATHER'S LOVE. THAT WILL FILL THE ACHING VOID IN THEIR SOUL, THIS GENERATION YEARNS TO EXPERIENCE THE TRUTH OF THE APOSTEL PAUL'S CLOSING WORDS TO THE CORINTHIANS: MAY THE GRACE OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, AND THE LOVE OF GOD [the Father], AND THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT BE WITH YOU ALL.

WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF WE WERE TO LOOK AT THE CHALLENGE OF REACHING THIS GENERATION. THIS GENERATION OF PAIN AND AN ABSENT, OF UNLOVING EARTHLY FATHERS, JUST THINK WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IN OUR WORLD. WELL I BELIEVE SOMETHING PROFOUND WOULD TAKE PLACE IN THE HEARTS AND MINDS AND EMOTIONS OF OUR SOCIETY.

IF WE COULD JUST GET THIS GENERATION TO SEE THAT THERE IS A FATHER THAT CARE. IF WE COULD GET THEM TO SEE THAT JESUS IS A LOVING FATHER. IF WE COULD CREATE A VISION OF CHRIST AND HIS LOVE IN THEIR MIND THEY WOULD KNOW THAT THEY HAS A FATHER WHO CARES

TO LET THEM KNOW THAT THEY HAVE NOTHING TO FEAR

THE STORY THIS GENERATION LONGS TO HEAR IS A STORY OF A FATHER'S LOVE.
