Col 2:16-19. Dan Kroon. We’ve talked a lot this year about the freedom we have in Christ – about the way grace liberates us from religion. In Colossians 2, Paul gives us the impression that this freedom needs to be well guarded. That, because of sin, human beings will always default back to religion. Whether it’s expressed in traditionalism or super-spiritualism, we all risk falling into such traps. So, freedom needs to be guarded against these things. Because these traps not only pull us away from Jesus (the real thing), they also pull us away from each other, causing division and disunity. The Christian faith is about connection with the Head and, through Him, connection with each other.
