Why Abraham? Over 4,000 years ago!
The Bible takes the time to speak about him
We should take the time to study him.
He walked with God by faith throughout his life
God is calling us to do the same

THE PROBLEM & THE PAIN:
A time of Spiritual Darkness (Idols, Joshua 24:2); A time of Death (); A time of Despair ()

Now Sarai was childless because she was not able to conceive.

2. ABRHAM’S PARTIAL OBEDIENCE (11:31-32/12:1)= HIS WASTED YEARS.
Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, the wife of his son Abram, and together they set out from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to Canaan. But when they came to Harran, they settled there.
Terah lived 205 years, and he died in Harran.

The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.
ABRAHAM WAS CALLED TO LEAVE:
ABRAHAM WAS CALLED TO LEAVE:
HIS REGION, HIS RELIGION, HIS RELATIVES
HIS REGION, HIS RELIGION, HIS RELATIVES
HE WAS CALLED TO FOLLOW , TO FAITH, TO A NEW FUTURE: HE WAS LEAVING HIS HOME, NOT KNOWING WHERE HE WAS GOING, AND WHERE HE WOULD ARRIVE!
HE WAS CALLED TO FOLLOW , TO FAITH, TO A NEW FUTURE: HE WAS LEAVING HIS HOME, NOT KNOWING WHERE HE WAS GOING, AND WHERE HE WOULD ARRIVE!
GOD’S CALL DEMANDS US TO LEAVE OUR PAST LIFESTYLE—>TO LIVE A NEW LIFE, WITH NEW PRIORITIES, AND FOLLOW A NEW LORD. THIS DEMANDS A TOTAL COMMITMENT.
GOD’S CALL DEMANDS US TO LEAVE OUR PAST LIFESTYLE—>TO LIVE A NEW LIFE, WITH NEW PRIORITIES, AND FOLLOW A NEW LORD. THIS DEMANDS A TOTAL COMMITMENT.
Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.
NO MATTER WHAT IT COSTS.
NO MATTER WHERE TO GO.
NO MATTER HOW MUCH IT HURTS.
NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE, WHAT YOUR VOCATION IS.
WHEN GOD CALLS YOU TO “FOLLOW ME”, YOU NEED TO GO!
Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, the wife of his son Abram, and together they set out from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to Canaan. But when they came to Harran, they settled there.
GENESIS 11:31
The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.
THERE SEEMS TO HAVE COMPROMISE IN HIS DEVOTION: (11:31) “THEY” & (12:1) “YOU”.
THERE SEEMS TO HAVE COMPROMISE IN HIS DEVOTION: (11:31) “THEY” & (12:1) “YOU”.
REMEMBER: A PARTIAL OBEDIENCE IS SIMPLE EMBER: A PARTIAL OBEDIENCE IS SIMPLE DISOBD
JUST LIKE OTHERS IN THE FAMILY WHO LEFT, ABRAHAM DID NOT SEPARATE HIMSELF FOR THE CALL. IT WAS “THEY” WHO LEFT INCLUDING HIMSELF IN (11:31). BUT GOD SINGLE HIM OUT IN THE CALL IN (12:1).
HIS RELIGION
HIS RELATIVES
R,
REMEMBER: A PARTIAL OBEDIENCE IS A SIMPLE DISOBEDIENCE! UNTIL WE DO ALL THAT GOD SAYS TO DO, WE
