He told the entire group to stay while He prayed.
He took Peter, James, and John a little further.
He then left Peter, James, and John and went further yet to pray Himself.
Upon His return to Peter, James, and John, He did not rebuke them as a group.
Even with His close friends present, this was a private prayer not to be heard by the entire group.
