Understanding the basics
Understanding the basics
One of the most prevalent question about dream has always been: Where does dream come from?
God is the giver of good dreams
And there has been several propositions throughout the ages of the source of dreams:
Some school of thought believe that dreams only comes from within you
Some others argued that it comes from some of the things that you did during the day
Some believed that dreams comes as a result of deep thinking
And yet some others believe that Dreams come from God.
What Does the bible says about the origin of Dreams?
14 For God speaks in one way, and in two, though man does not perceive it. 15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, while they slumber on their beds, 16 then he opens the ears of men and terrifies them with warnings, 17 that he may turn man aside from his deed and conceal pride from a man; 18 he keeps back his soul from the pit, his life from perishing by the sword.
Job 33:14-18
I will read a more simpler version of the bible:
14 “For God speaks again and again, 15 in dreams, in visions of the night when deep sleep falls on men as they lie on their beds. 16 He opens their ears in times like that and gives them wisdom and instruction, 17 causing them to change their minds, and keeping them from pride, and warning them of the penalties of sin, and keeping them from falling into some trap.
Job 33:
From this scripture it is clear that:
Dreams come from God.
14 For God speaks again and again, though people do not recognize it.
job 33:14 says “God speaks again and again in dreams and visions...”
Dreams is God speaking to you when you are asleep.
Dreams happen when you are asleep: the bible says:
God speaks in dreams and visions of the night when deep sleep falls on men as they lie on their bed: Why did God choose the night?
And that every dream has targeted purposes
every dream has targeted purposes
When you are sleeping it is easier for God to
open the ears of your heart - the seat of the spirit of God in every man “the spirit of man is the candle light of the Lord”
every dream has targeted purposes
It is easier for God to close the ear of your soul - your logical and human sense of judgement - so that, it becomes impossible for you to influence your dreams.
let me say this, in the realm of dream, your soul is inactive, your spirit is active. when dreaming, you can not think, you can not influence what is been reveled to you, you are just a receiver. God is the giver and you are the receiver.
Every dream has a purpose either in the life of the dreamer or in the life of others around him.
Dream is God speaking to you when you are asleep
God use dream to communicate his intentions to us:
job said, in dreams and visions of the night God opens the ears of men and give them wisdom and instructions.
Job mentioned some things that I will highlight few of them here:
God opens the hear of your heart
God Gives wisdom and instructions
God withdraws you from your personal well crafted purposes that leaves God out
God prevents you from pride - when you are dreaming your soul is inactive, you are just a receiver, you can not argue or demonstrate pride with God
He keepeth you from destructive wisdom
and keeps you back from destruction by adequate warnings.
God give dreams to withdraw man from his purpose and hide pride from man… The instruction and wisdom that you receive from God is meant to withraw you from yourself: it is meant to help you turn aside from following your self, and start following God’s direction for your life
