I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; From where shall my help come? 2 My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.

Manifestation of strength -l Made a decision to lift up his eyes to the mountain. That simple act to lift up our eyes requires strength. When we we look at this verse we can detect that the author had a struggle. In order to need to lift his eyes they must have been down. Remember there were so many other things competing for his attention; his current situation, culture,

voices in his own head.

Eyes are the lamp of the body. ()

Mountain – in ancient days the people believed that the Gods lived in the hills and mountains. This author is making a bold statement he is saying the Yahweh lives in the hills.

From whence comes my health- informative for those who are unaware, for the writer it is a reminder an encouragement

Why – Help comes from the Lord- continuous and meets us right where we are. Whatever valley we may be in his help or strength meets us right there.
