Ben Franklin once said that there were only two things certain in life: death and taxes. As unpleasant as taxes may be, they pale in comparison to the sting of death. The incredible amount of interest that accompanies any report of someone who has been to the “other side” and returned to tell us what awaits reminds us that the question of death remains a topic that troubles the vast majority of people. Believers are not immune from the curiosity that surrounds what happens to us when we draw our final breath here on earth. Paul wanted to ease the minds of the Thessalonian believers on this subject, explaining to them the blessed hope we have in Christ that removes both the sting and victory form death. We invite you to join us as we rejoice in our “Gospel Hope” in 1 Thess. 4:13-18.
