Producing Fruit
How To Have Good Fruit In a World with None
In the bible it likens our lives to tree‘s, and the things we do to fruit of those tree‘s. In the natural you know a tree by the fruit it bears apples oranges… so on.
The bible compares the things we do to fruit because we are constantly doing things that effect other people good or bad, that’s why it is important to produce good fruit. Galatians 5:22-23 describes to us the fruit we should bear love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.
You say that’s a lot to remember… God thought of that! In the bible it also says that all of the fruits are summed up in one fruit, love! That if we love God and our neighbor as ourselves we will have fulfilled all the commandments spoken of in the bible.
Why would we want to bear fruit especially good fruit? Because the bible also says in Matt. 3:10 that a tree that does not bear good fruit “will be cut down and cast into the fire,” speaking of Hell.
Remember guys we can only bear good fruit through the Holy Spirit. In Romans 5:5 it says, “Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” When you accepted Christ you made room for the Holy Spirit in your heart, how do we know this: our love for others…
“Hope” in Scripture is the absolute certainty of a believer’s victory in God. As believers we have hope of eternal life guaranteed when we accepted Jesus Christ as our savior. So we have a responsibility to show good fruit to the world. When people hurt us or take a bite out of us just like a piece of fruit they can say “wow that was sweet,” because we respond to them with love and kindness.
We need to make every moment in our life count and devote it to producing good fruit…
