Pr 16:18-19. Tony van Drimmelen. Having “wisdom” at work in our lives means we are grounded in the fear of the Lord and in the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. But accepting the Gospel means we have to be humble and confess the bad things we do in order to receive it as a free gift. What do you think is the number one obstacle to receiving the Gospel? Pride is. In Proverbs our pride is defined and the damage it causes is exposed. Graciously God provides the antidote for pride (see Pr 15:33) in His own Son and the life-long, character forming consequences of following Him. Jesus said: “…I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” (Mat 11:29).
