The Apostle Paul is stressing that they no longer can walk or live in the ways he described above. "You did not so learn Christ" verse 20; but he is reminding them that they have a more intimate relationship with Christ by hearing His voice, being taught by Him and taught the truth of God for their minds are no longer in darkness, no longer vain; you are no longer alienated/stranger walking out of the will of God but walking with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, in fellowship with Him
I. Put Off Old Nature (V22)
Old man crucified with Christ ---
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
We are crucified with Christ that now we live, Christ living in us & now living in this flesh by the faith of Jesus who loved us & gave Himself for us. (reference )
II. Put on New Nature(24)
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Old refers to all the things that are part of our old nature --- such as natural pride, love of sin, reliance on works, bad habits, self righteousness, greed, low self esteem, etc. All old things died & nailed to the cross with our sin nature.
New has come —new created after God in His righteousness & true holiness.
How do we get from our Old Nature to this Awesome New Nature?
Now we are to put on
How are we to get from our Old Therefore if any man be in ChrN
verse 23 is the bridge to verse 22-24 explaining how to take off our old nature (verse 22) and how to put on and remain in our new nature.

We need to renew our spiritual minds (having a continuous, & constantly renewal of a fresh mind & spiritual attitude; in the knowledge after the image of the One who created us.
For states And be yes not conformed to this world: But be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind...
In order for a change or transformation to take place, there has to be a newness or renewal of our minds.
We have to intentionally seek after the Word of God to reveal to us the truth of who we are so that we can reject all things that are contrary to God's word. We now love and crave all the things He loves & craves; as well as reject all the things He rejects.
We have to speak life & truth over ourselves such as:
I am loved:
I am accepted.
I am a child of God.
I am redeemed & forgiven. Colossians 1:14
Colossians 1:14
I am complete in Jesus Christ. Colossians 2:10
I am free from condemnation.
I am chosen of God, holy and dearly loved.
I am chosen to bear fruit. John 15:16
This renewed mind reminds us because of Jesus's death, burial, & resurrection that we now are no longer a slave to our old sinful nature & we are now changed into our new nature created in God's image, "in true righteousness & holiness".
This change alert will cause you to walk in your New Nature. Your walk will mirror God’s image!!!!
