Here we have Jesus who has really just begun His ministry.
He was baptized, called his first disciples, went to the wedding in Cana where he did his first miracle, then he stopped off at the temple and made a statement, and had a meeting with Nicodemus.
So you see here that Jesus is well on his way to being about his mission. You also can see that he is not wasting anytime explaining the he is the Son of God and that He is the only way to life.

we are going to speed most of our time on this one verse today and deeply think just what does this mean. In particular I would like us to concentrate on the the words “so loved”
