How to Get Rest in God

I) Introduction

2 weeks ago we spoke on the need for rest in Christ

(NKJV)

29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

b. Jesus demands that we rest in Him

c. In today’s world we see more and more peoples rejecting Christ and His offer of rest.

d. Jesus gave His life and shed His blood as the last sacrifice needed.

e. He then sat down at the right hand of God

f. If you have not found that rest in you soul, then you put Christ into a lower level of savior.

g. Demanding another sacrifice from Him

h. Demanding He give up His throne again

II) A warning that we are at a crossroads

We need to seek the “old” and only way to salvation.

This will find rest for our souls.

If we know we are saved, we know we are going to rest

Believing every word of God is a way of knowing we are on the “old” road.

If we live daily in Christ we know we are on the right path!

However, we refuse such a great gift.

III) A warning not to reject God’s :Watchman

God appoints watchman over us.

Teachers

and Angels

He does this because He loves us and wants the best for us.

But, we refuse to listen to them

IV) A warning that includes all nations, even Christians!

V) A warning that God’s judgement is real!

Because they rejected God’s word

because their worship and giving was done for selfish reasons

Hypocrisy is a reason for God to ignore us!
