There are evil dreams that the devil uses to target :
Your faith and the assurance of your salvation by creating fear and hopelessness in your dream
The assurance of your salvation through fear
He uses them to target specific areas of your life - especially, your prayer life, because that is your power house. He does this by direct attacks and indirect attacks in your dreams - he can use people, animal, or strange objects to attack you.
and he uses them to scare you away from dreaming - you will start to think that a dreamless night is a sweet night, because it would be better not to dream than to have bad dreams.
Your victory over evil dreams is your genuine salvation:
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

the “all things”, includes your dream.
after all things become new as a result of salvation:
13 If thou prepare thine heart, And stretch out thine hands toward him; 14 If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, And let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles. 15 For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; Yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear: 16 Because thou shalt forget thy misery, And remember it as waters that pass away: 17 And thine age shall be clearer than the noonday; Thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning. 18 And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; Yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety. 19 Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; Yea, many shall make suit unto thee.
24 If you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.

14 For God speaks again and again, though people do not recognize it. 15 He speaks in dreams, in visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on people as they lie in their beds.

The obvious truth is this: “God Speaks through our dreams and he wants you to start paying close attention to your dreams, because it contain divine revelations that holds the key to your future”
My entrance on this subject today is simple, when God gives you a divine message in your dream, what is his expectation? what does he expect you to do with it?
God expect you to ACT ON IT: the question we might ask is this: HOW?
1 I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, And will watch to see what he will say unto me, And what I shall answer when I am reproved. 2 And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, That he may run that readeth it. 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, But at the end it shall speak, and not lie: Though it tarry, wait for it; Because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

Write the vision Down and make it plain upon tables.
Your first action is to stand up and write the dream down, even before you pray about it. - the best time to write you dream is immediately after you wake up, don’t delay.
This process is important because in the process of writing it down, God will guide you to use some keywords to describe your experience which would be crucial in the process of interpreting your dream.
This is the only way to keep track of your dreams and always remember your dreams…
Make it plain:
this simply means, take step to understand what its saying - are there symbols in it, what is this dream saying? if you can not interprete it yourself, look for help.

That he may run that readeth it:
most times when God gives us dreams, it will come with simple responsibilities, that is immediate or in the future. When God shows up, I told us, its because there is something on his mind. most times he intends for you to know and identify with his plans for your life. for example God said to Moses:
9 Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them. 10 Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.
there is always something in the heart of God that requires your action.

8 and I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites. 9 And now, behold, the cry of the people of Israel has come to me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them. 10 Come, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.”
Let us read some of these dreams and see what follows:
The dream of pharaoh is a good example:
25 Then Joseph said to Pharaoh, “The dreams of Pharaoh are one; God has revealed to Pharaoh what he is about to do. 26 The seven good cows are seven years, and the seven good ears are seven years; the dreams are one. 27 The seven lean and ugly cows that came up after them are seven years, and the seven empty ears blighted by the east wind are also seven years of famine. 28 It is as I told Pharaoh; God has shown to Pharaoh what he is about to do. 29 There will come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt, 30 but after them there will arise seven years of famine, and all the plenty will be forgotten in the land of Egypt. The famine will consume the land, 31 and the plenty will be unknown in the land by reason of the famine that will follow, for it will be very severe. 32 And the doubling of Pharaoh’s dream means that the thing is fixed by God, and God will shortly bring it about. 33 Now therefore let Pharaoh select a discerning and wise man, and set him over the land of Egypt. 34 Let Pharaoh proceed to appoint overseers over the land and take one-fifth of the produce of the land of Egypt during the seven plentiful years. 35 And let them gather all the food of these good years that are coming and store up grain under the authority of Pharaoh for food in the cities, and let them keep it. 36 That food shall be a reserve for the land against the seven years of famine that are to occur in the land of Egypt, so that the land may not perish through the famine.”

let me say this, dreams, most times will address issues that are about to happen, not what has already happened. verse 25
God was speaking to Pharaoh about what he is about to do
God doubles the dream to let pharaoh know that the thing has been fixed
write this down: 99% of the time, dreams addresses what is about to happen, not what has already happened.
from 35, Joseph, stated clearly what God expected them to do to help them through the famine.
So, God expect you to act when he gives you a visionary dream - dreams that have meaning.

you will be able to identify whether the dream is for you or for others.
What is the main action of the dream?
this will help to unlock the central message of the dream
What is the main emotion of the dream?
this will help to identify the message as positive or negative
some emotion includes:
Joy
sadness
fear
anxiety
insecurity
urgency etc
What is the parallel in my wake-up life?
this will help to tie the meaning of the dream to your current reality… the dream will not just be hanging.
