In Ex 19:23 the consecration of Mt. Sinai by establishing boundaries around it served to keep out all that might have profaned God’s holy presence.
Then Joshua said to the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.” And Joshua spoke to the priests, saying, “Take up the ark of the covenant and cross over ahead of the people.” So they took up the ark of the covenant and went ahead of the people.

The separation of men from what defiles ceremonially is but typical of the holiness that is spiritual and ethical. “Be ye holy for I am holy” is quoted from the OT (I Pet 1:16; Lev 19:1; 20:7, etc.) and the so-called holiness code is heavily ethical. “Man was made in the image of God and capable of reflecting the Divine likeness. And as God reveals himself as ethically holy, he calls men to a holiness resembling his own” (ISBE, “Holiness”).

Many people want to experience the miracles of God in their by living a sinful live.
we have not experience Gods wanders because we want to live live on our turns.
We live in a world that is plagued by selfishness and selfish people. This is not a new phenomena.
It was started in Heaven by the Lucifer the self centered leader. At the apex of sin is the desire to be selfish.
A few, yes, only a few, of the vast number who people the earth will be saved unto life eternal, while the masses who have not perfected their souls in obeying the truth will be appointed to the second death. – {FLB 213.5}
While the sins of penitent believers are being removed from the sanctuary, there is to be a special work of purification, of putting away of sin, among God’s people upon earth. – {FLB 213.6} – FLB 213.5-6
God will do amazing things in our lives when we have concrete our lives to Him.

So Moses went down from the mountain to the people and sanctified the people, and they washed their clothes.

“sanctify yourselves” meant that everybody bathed and changed their clothes and that the married couples devoted themselves wholly to the Lord (). In the Near East, however, water was a luxury that wasn’t used too often for personal hygiene. In our modern world we’re accustomed to comfortable bathing facilities; but these were unknown to most of the people in Bible times.
In the Bible the imagery of washing one’s body and changing clothes symbolized making a new beginning with the Lord. Since sin is pictured as defilement

God wants to do amazing things for us. And we want to do amazing things for God.
Thats ok but it is not what God desires of us. What God desires of us if for us to consecrate ourself.

The word consecrate means: To be holy, remove from common use, subject to special treatment. The word means to set yourself apart.
Consecration demands full devotion. It’s the dethroning of yourself and allowing Jesus christ to enthroned in your life.

A consecrated Christian life is ever-shedding light and comfort and peace. It is characterized by purity, tact, simplicity, and usefulness. There are few really consecrated men among us, few who have fought and conquered in the battle with self. Real conversion is a decided change of feelings and motives; it is a virtual taking leave of worldly connections, a hastening from their spiritual atmosphere, a withdrawing from the controlling power of their thoughts, opinions, and influences.

The warfare against self is the greatest battle that was ever fought. The yielding of self, surrendering all to the will of God, requires a struggle; but the soul must submit to God before it can be renewed in holiness.

A life in Christ is a life of restfulness. There may be no ecstasy of feeling, but there should be an abiding, peaceful trust. Your hope is not in yourself; it is in Christ. Your weakness is united to His strength, your ignorance to His wisdom, your frailty to His enduring might. So you are not to look to yourself, not to let the mind dwell upon self, but look to Christ.

Those who consecrate body, soul, and spirit to God, will constantly receive a new endowment of physical, mental, and spiritual power. The inexhaustible supplies of heaven are at their command. The Redeemer will not accept divided service. Daily the worker for God must learn the meaning of self-surrender. He must study the word of God, learning its meaning and obeying its precepts.
