In Ex 19:23 the consecration of Mt. Sinai by establishing boundaries around it served to keep out all that might have profaned God’s holy presence.

Joshua 3:5–6 NASB95
Then Joshua said to the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.” And Joshua spoke to the priests, saying, “Take up the ark of the covenant and cross over ahead of the people.” So they took up the ark of the covenant and went ahead of the people.

The separation of men from what defiles ceremonially is but typical of the holiness that is spiritual and ethical. “Be ye holy for I am holy” is quoted from the OT (I Pet 1:16; Lev 19:1; 20:7, etc.) and the so-called holiness code is heavily ethical. “Man was made in the image of God and capable of reflecting the Divine likeness. And as God reveals himself as ethically holy, he calls men to a holiness resembling his own” (ISBE, “Holiness”).

Galatians 2:20 NKJV
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Galatians 2:21 NKJV
I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.”
Joshua 3:5
Many people want to experience the miracles of God in their by living a sinful live.
we have not experience Gods wanders because we want to live live on our turns.
We live in a world that is plagued by selfishness and selfish people. This is not a new phenomena.
It was started in Heaven by the Lucifer the self centered leader. At the apex of sin is the desire to be selfish.
A few, yes, only a few, of the vast number who people the earth will be saved unto life eternal, while the masses who have not perfected their souls in obeying the truth will be appointed to the second death. – {FLB 213.5} While the sins of penitent believers are being removed from the sanctuary, there is to be a special work of purification, of putting away of sin, among God’s people upon earth. – {FLB 213.6} – FLB 213.5-6
God will do amazing things in our lives when we have concrete our lives to Him.
Mark Batterson in his book All in said that.
Anytime God is about to do amazing things in our lives, He calls us to consecrate our selves.
We see this establish in scripture before the Israelites crossed the Jorden River and conquer the promise land.

When God is about to do amazing things in your our lives He calls us to concrete our selves.

Before God can do something amazing in our lives we must concrete ourself.

Joshua 3:5 NASB95
Then Joshua said to the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.”
Joshua
Numbers 11:18 NKJV
Then you shall say to the people, ‘Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow, and you shall eat meat; for you have wept in the hearing of the Lord, saying, “Who will give us meat to eat? For it was well with us in Egypt.” Therefore the Lord will give you meat, and you shall eat.
Exodus 19:10–14 NKJV
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes. And let them be ready for the third day. For on the third day the Lord will come down upon Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people. You shall set bounds for the people all around, saying, ‘Take heed to yourselves that you do not go up to the mountain or touch its base. Whoever touches the mountain shall surely be put to death. Not a hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned or shot with an arrow; whether man or beast, he shall not live.’ When the trumpet sounds long, they shall come near the mountain.” So Moses went down from the mountain to the people and sanctified the people, and they washed their clothes.
Exodus 19:10-
Be Strong 1. The Word of Faith (Josh. 3:1–13)

Joshua’s message to the people (v. 5). This was both an order and a promise, and the fulfillment of the promise depended on their obedience to the order. Some of God’s promises are unconditional, and all we have to do is believe them; while other promises require that we meet certain conditions. In meeting these conditions, we’re not earning God’s blessing; we’re making sure our hearts are ready for God’s blessing.

If the experience of Israel at Mt. Sinai was the pattern
Exodus 19:9–15 NKJV
And the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, I come to you in the thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and believe you forever.” So Moses told the words of the people to the Lord. And he said to the people, “Be ready for the third day; do not come near your wives.”
),
“sanctify yourselves” meant that everybody bathed and changed their clothes and that the married couples devoted themselves wholly to the Lord (). In the Near East, however, water was a luxury that wasn’t used too often for personal hygiene. In our modern world we’re accustomed to comfortable bathing facilities; but these were unknown to most of the people in Bible times.
In the Bible the imagery of washing one’s body and changing clothes symbolized making a new beginning with the Lord. Since sin is pictured as defilement
Psalm 51:2 NKJV
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin.
Psalm 51:7 NKJV
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Ps
,
God has to cleanse us before we can truly follow Him.
When Jacob made a new beginning with the Lord and returned to Bethel, he and his family washed themselves and changed their garments
Genesis 35:1–3 NKJV
Then God said to Jacob, “Arise, go up to Bethel and dwell there; and make an altar there to God, who appeared to you when you fled from the face of Esau your brother.” And Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, “Put away the foreign gods that are among you, purify yourselves, and change your garments. Then let us arise and go up to Bethel; and I will make an altar there to God, who answered me in the day of my distress and has been with me in the way which I have gone.”
). After King David confessed his sin, he bathed, changed clothes, and worshiped the Lord (). The imagery is carried over into the New Testament in ; , and .
After King David confessed his sin, he bathed, changed clothes, and worshiped the Lord
2 Samuel 12:20 NKJV
So David arose from the ground, washed and anointed himself, and changed his clothes; and he went into the house of the Lord and worshiped. Then he went to his own house; and when he requested, they set food before him, and he ate.

2 Corinthians 6:14–7:1 NKJV
Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.” Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.” “I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty.” Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Ephesians 4:26–27 NKJV
“Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.
God wants to do amazing things for us. And we want to do amazing things for God.
Thats ok but it is not what God desires of us. What God desires of us if for us to consecrate ourself.
.
We want to do amazing things for God.

What Consecration is not:

Consecration is not going to church once a week
it’s not fasting, it’s not having your daily devotions.
it’s not daily devotions is not keeping up the 10 Commandments is not sharing your faith is not giving God the tide it’s not prayer is not volunteering from ministry is then leading small group is not raising your hands in worship is not going on mission trips it’s not Phedon feeding the hungry all of those things are good. But it’s more like behavior modification consecration is more than doing good deeds it’s much deeper than that.
It’s not keeping the 10 Commandments.
It’s not sharing your faith, It’s not returning a faithful tithe and offering.
It’s not just prayer
and offering. it’s not prayer is not volunteering from ministry is then leading small group is not raising your hands in worship is not going on mission trips it’s not Phedon feeding the hungry all of those things are good. But it’s more like behavior modification consecration is more than doing good deeds it’s much deeper than that.
It’s not doing community service. It’s not leading an small hospitality group.
It’s not raising your hands in worship and get ing your praise on. It’s not going on mission trips. It’s not feeding the hungry.
All of those things are good. But it’s not consecration.
all of those things are good. But it’s more like behavior modification consecration is more than doing good deeds it’s much deeper than that.
Those things are good but it’s not what consecration is all about. Consecration is more than doing good deeds it’s much deeper than that.
The word consecrate means: To be holy, remove from common use, subject to special treatment. The word means to set yourself apart.
Consecration demands full devotion. It’s the dethroning of yourself and allowing Jesus christ to enthroned in your life.
It is complete letting go of your self - intreats
It is giving God Vito power of your life.
It is surrendering all of you to All of him.
Consecration is an ever deepening love for Jesus Christ.
It is blind obedience to the Holy Spirit

Consecration is total surrender

Luke 14:26 NKJV
“If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.
Luke 14:23
He “that forsaketh not all that he hath,” says Jesus, “cannot be My disciple.” Whatever shall divert the affections from God must be given up.
A consecrated Christian life is ever-shedding light and comfort and peace. It is characterized by purity, tact, simplicity, and usefulness. It is controlled by that unselfish love that sanctifies the influence. It is full of Christ, and leaves a track of light wherever its possessor may go. PP page 667

Ellen White puts it this way

Consecration is the putting away of self

Consecration is the putting away of self

There are few really consecrated men among us, few who have fought and conquered in the battle with self. Real conversion is a decided change of feelings and motives; it is a virtual taking leave of worldly connections, a hastening from their spiritual atmosphere, a withdrawing from the controlling power of their thoughts, opinions, and influences.
EG White in Steps to Christ P 43 she says
The warfare against self is the greatest battle that was ever fought. The yielding of self, surrendering all to the will of God, requires a struggle; but the soul must submit to God before it can be renewed in holiness.
PP page 667
Must be willing to give up self
A life in Christ is a life of restfulness. There may be no ecstasy of feeling, but there should be an abiding, peaceful trust. Your hope is not in yourself; it is in Christ. Your weakness is united to His strength, your ignorance to His wisdom, your frailty to His enduring might. So you are not to look to yourself, not to let the mind dwell upon self, but look to Christ.
Be assured that if you fully consecrate yourself to God, self will die, and your life will be hid with Christ in God
Be assured that if you fully consecrate yourself to God, self will die, and your life will be hid with Christ in God
A call to be holy
God is intrinsically holy and he calls his people to be holy, providing for them the standard of obedience whereby that holiness may be maintained (.). Because God is holy, he is free from the moral imperfections and frailties common to man () and can be counted on to be faithful to his promises ().

Romans 12:1–2 NKJV
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
-2Romans 12:1-2
Abraham call
Genesis 12:1–4 NKJV
Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” So Abram departed as the Lord had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.
Gen 12:1-
Those who consecrate body, soul, and spirit to God, will constantly receive a new endowment of physical, mental, and spiritual power. The inexhaustible supplies of heaven are at their command. Christ gives them the breath of His own Spirit, the life of His own life. The Holy Spirit puts forth His highest energies to work in heart and mind. The grace of God enlarges and multiplies their faculties, and every perfection of the divine nature comes to their assistance in the work of saving souls. Through co-operation with Christ, they are made complete in Him, and in their human weakness they are enabled to do the deeds of Omnipotence.
The Redeemer will not accept divided service. Daily the worker for God must learn the meaning of self-surrender. He must study the word of God, learning its meaning and obeying its precepts. Thus he may reach the standard of Christian excellence. Day by day God works with him, perfecting the character that is to stand in the time of final test.[1] Gospel Workers 112-113
