Illustration: Hideyoshi, a Japanese warlord who ruled over Japan in the late 1500s, commissioned a colossal statue of Buddha for a shrine in Kyoto. It took 50,000 men five years to build, but the work had scarcely been completed when the earthquake of 1596 brought the roof of the shrine crashing down and wrecked the statue. In a rage Hideyoshi shot an arrow at the fallen colossus. “I put you here at great expense,” he shouted, “and you can’t even look after your own temple.”
This reminds me of two accounts in the bible,
1. - the ark and Dagon
2. - Elijah and the Prophets of Baal
These are testimonies of the Greatness of the God we Worship here tonight
In psalm 19 we are given 3 more of these testimonies, each declaring the existence and majesty of Our God. I have divided it into three testimonies , or books, if you will. The book of creation, the book of revalation, and the book of transformation.

The Book Of Creation

a. Verse 1 Study
- Declare - like a scribe faithfully copying what he sees
- Sheweth - to announce by word of mouth to those present
b. verse 2
Genesis 1:16 KJV 1900
And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
- Day by Day - by Day by Day by Day - neverending succession
- uttereth - pours out
- Speech - promises - faithful words
- night after night (same as day by day)
- lives out the knowledge of God being oblivious to the fact that it is doing it- it can't help but glorify God -- line means teaching or proclamation
-- line means teaching or proclamation
Romans 1:20 KJV 1900
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

The Book of Revelation

- not the speaking of the Last book of the bible (The Book of The Revelation) but the entirety of God's Word as it is all the revelation of God to mankind.
a. David gives us 6 aspects of God's Word for us to consider...
1. It is perfect
what is complete or entirely in accord with truth and fact
+ converting the soul
to restore, refresh, renew
2. It is sure
to stand firm, to trust, to be certain, to believe in
+ giving wisdom
3. It is right
straight, level, it's dependable
+ rejoicing the heart
4. It is pure
clear, sincere,
+ enlightening the eyes
5. It is clean
ceremonially except-able,
Learning From Creation
+ endures forever
6. It is True and Righteous
firm, faithful, stable
+ altogether!

The Book of Transformation

a. A Life That Desires His Word
- more desired than the riches of this world
- more desired than the sweetness of this world
b. A Life That Desires His Presence
- to have the presence of God in your life requires a life that is cleansed from sin.
+ from secret sin
- 2 things, sin that are hidden because of lack of understanding
sin that are of the inner man that the world does not see but you battle with day in and day out
It Purpose
+ from presumptuous sin
these are prideful sins. this is sinning, with the attitude that, "it will be ok, God will for give me" or even being prideful enough to use your salvation as a means of continuing in sin because you are saved from its eternal consequences.
- the desire is to be Upright which many times speak of a vanquished foe being completely consumed by the victory. + to be consumed in the presence of God
c. A Life That Desires His Righteousness
- Let the Words of My mouth
- Meditation of my heart
- be exceptable in thy sight
- my strength
+ literally - my rock
- in exo 17:6 this is the rock that provided water to God's people
- in exodus 33:21-22 it is the rock where God showed His Glory to Moses
- in He is the Rock of our salvation
+ O LORD MY ROCK
