Untitled Sermon

Communion is a time when we reflect upon the on the Sacrifice that Jesus made for us. Jesus took our place.

He took our death, do we could have life.

He was broken, so we could be made whole.

He was laid low, so we could be lifted up. He was bound so we could be free.

He was ridiculed so we could celebrated.

He endured a cross, so you could have a crown.

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the punishment that brought us our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

But I ask the question this morning do you really understand the power of the blood of Jesus?

As I was pondering in prayer what to preach about this communion,

A thought came into my mind. Help them to understand the Power of my blood.

There is Power in the Blood of Jesus, but I have to make it plain this morning.

Because I believe that this communion needs to be different for someone today.

Someone needs to see beyond the

Tables and the trays,

someone needs to see beyond the

white Dresses and Black Suits and White ties.

Somebody in here needs to come in contact with the Blood of Jesus.

Because if we are honest

the Devil has been been trying to destroy us

the Devil has been trying to devour us with the entertainments and trials of this world

The Devil has been trying to discourage us put out our spiritual life.

The Devil has been trying to make somebody quit.

BUt there is Bad news for the Devil

For it says in

That we can be overcome him by the BLood of the LAmb, and by our testimony

Because of the BLood there is A way of escape.

BEcause of the BLood We can do this.

Because of the BLood the Devil is a defeated Foe!!!

Can we take a 10 few seconds TO Thank God for the BLood.

So I got the impression help them to understand power of my blood, and I was directed to the last night the children of Israel were going to spend in Egypt.

God told Moses he was going to send a final plague and this one would result with the children of Israel being set freed by pharaoh.

On the day of their deliverance the Lord gave them a set of instructions that they would have to follow to be delivered.

This ceremony became known as the Passover.

The ultimate purpose of the Old Testament Passover instruction was to point forward to Christ, and to show the purpose of his death.

The People of God kept Passover for 1500 years until Christ on his last night on earth, instituted the Last Supper or communion to take its place.

Both These events symbolize the Sacrifice that Jesus gave on the cross. So by studying The Blood of the Passover Lamb we can learn more about the blood of Jesus.

Passover can also give insights on how we should take part in communion.

Teach the Process 10th Day Moses

Vs 5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:

The Lamb was without Blemish or Fault

The Sacrifice could have no physical blemish because it represented Christ.

V6 Lamb was killed.

7And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.

BLood in BAson

The Hyssop plant was used, which was used for cleansing purposes.

Levitical Codes called for Hyssop in cleansing purposes

David said purge me with Hyssop.

It the blood ceremoniously cleansed everyone in the house from sin.

THe Blood of Jesus Cleanses!!!

It wasn’t enough Lamb was slain…..

The blood had to be applied to the individuals in the house.

and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses

Christ has been slain

so the merits of Christ’s blood must be applied to the soul.

WE do this by confession

If you confessed….. Your sins let it go. Your Past is in the Past.

Because of the Cleansing, know that your sins have been forgiven

If you are right with God today, you are ready if Christ should come today. {FLB 249.6} The Faith I live by.

When you are covered by the Blood you are in the house, You can have confidence that you are saved.

If willfully sin, confess and go back under the blood.

Point

God went through the land.

For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.

v13

And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.

The Blood of Jesus is a Shield it is a hedge.

The Blood of Jesus Gives Protection

It can keep us from Harm.

It protected Job, he confessed his sins everyday there was a Hedge.

he lived a life confession.

If anything gets through, it is for your good, it didn’t happen by chance there is a purpose in it.

Pitbull. -

God would protect me, unless those dogs had to get through. So I realized it was in his hands, And I wasn’t worried.

Being under the blood doesn’t mean that you won’t face trial, but it means that you will be preserved through the trial. You will be brought through the difficulty.

The blood doesn’t remove the danger but it preserves you through the danger.

They were saved in the midst of the trial.

Lets go to verse 11 look at the manner in which they

And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD'S passover.

They were instructed to Eat in clothes and a walking stick with shoes. God was trying to strengthen their faith. He wanted them to know that something was going to happen, that there deliverance was immanent.

How they partook of the lamb, shows us how we should partake of

communion.

Eat it knowing that God is going to do what he said he will do.

Eat it like something is going to happen,

Eat it knowing you are going to be delivered from your sins.

Eat it with Expectancy.

Eat it with the promise that he is going to break that bondange to that bad habit.

Eat it with faith expecting that one day he is going to come back and put an end

PUt an end to Cancer

Put an end to Diabeties

PUt an end To Drug Addiction

Put an end to Sorrow

Put an end to losing our love ones.

Put an end To Bills

PUt an end Gossip.

When you partake of the bread and the wine.

Eat it knowing that God is going to come Through!!!!!!

As you partake in the Lord’s supper, partake in hope and joy,

knowing that your sin have been forgiven,

knowing that he is coming back to deliver us, and knowing that his blood will protect as we come to him by faith.
