Introduction 7 Reasons why I love and trust my Bible I. It is supernatural in origin! II Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness! II. It is complete Psalm 19:7-11 The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; the precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes;  the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the Lord are true, and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb.  Moreover, by them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward. Deut. 4:2 You shall not add to the word that I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God that I command you. 12:32 Everything that I command you, you shall be careful to do. You shall not add to it or take from it. Rev. 22:18-19 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book,  and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book. III. It is accurate in its Prophecies I Pet. 1:10-12 Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied about the grace that was to be yours searched and inquired carefully, 11 inquiring what person or time the Spirit of Christ in them was indicating when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the subsequent glories. It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you, in the things that have now been announced to you through those who preached the good news to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, things into which angels long to look. IV. It is inerrant in its Content: THE BIBLE IS WITHOUT ERROR, IT DOES NOT ERR (INFALLIBLE) Psalm 119:89 Forever, O Lord, your word if firmly fixed in the heavens! John 10:35 Jesus said, “The Word of God came—and Scripture cannot be broken!” II Tim. 3:16-17 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,  that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. V. It is unique in its details John 19:24 They said to one another, “Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it to see whose it shall be.” This was to fulfill the Scripture! (V.28) After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now finished, said (to fulfill the Scripture), “I thirst.” (V.36) For these things took place that the Scripture might be fulfilled: “Not one of his bones will be broken.” And again another Scripture says, “They will look on him whom they have pierced.” VI. It is Divine in its Nature II Pet. 1:19-20 We have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts,  knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone's own interpretation. VII. It is Alive, it is not dead, it may be ancient but it is living and still saving the lost I Pet. 1:23 You have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God. (V.25) the word of the Lord remains forever.” And this word is the good news that was preached to you. Isaiah 6:8 The grass withers, the flower fades, but the Word of our God will stand forever! Conclusion This is why I love and trust my Bible! All else may fail me but this Word says God will be with me forever! Most of the great citadels will fail, God’s word will be standing in Eternity! You should trust these words, your Salvation depends on it.
