PERSERVERANCE IN PRAYER
PERSERVERANCE IN PRAYER
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

Why do some people ...
Succeed in having prayers answered?
Have a greater understanding of Bible?
Reach more souls for Christ?
Is it skill, genius, or luck?
The answer is suggested by Calvin Coolige:
:Press on:
“Press on: Nothing in the world can take the place of perseverance. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccesful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.”

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.
Matthew 7:7-8
By the tense of the Greek
It is in the presence tense, which usually means , which most often stresses “continuous action”
Literally Jesus is saying:
Keep on asking and it will be given to you.
Keep on seeking and you will find
Keep on knocking and it will be opened to you
By the progression of the terms themselves
“Asking” is one level of inquiry
“Seeking” moves up a level one goes about to find what they ask (asking plus action)
“Knocking” persist on getting the doors opened.
