Perseverance: The Oxford English Dictionary says continue in a course of action in spite of difficulty or with little or no indication of success.

Hebrews 10:32–39 NIV
Remember those earlier days after you had received the light, when you endured in a great conflict full of suffering. Sometimes you were publicly exposed to insult and persecution; at other times you stood side by side with those who were so treated. You suffered along with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions. So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For, “In just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay.” And, “But my righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.” But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.

Call to remembrance: Remember. Sometime that’s all we have is memories. We must be actively involved in recall when it looks like there is no success and we face difficulty.

Hebrews 10:32 ESV
But recall the former days when, after you were enlightened, you endured a hard struggle with sufferings,

Remembering will give us a foundation to stand on. If God brought me out that one He can bring me out of this one.

Hebrews 10:33–34 ESV
sometimes being publicly exposed to reproach and affliction, and sometimes being partners with those so treated. For you had compassion on those in prison, and you joyfully accepted the plundering of your property, since you knew that you yourselves had a better possession and an abiding one.

When we understood that we have a better home, the things on this earth seem to be not as important.

Mark 10:29–30 NKJV
So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life.

Since we are remembering these things we must persevere the present time knowing that if God did it before He will do it again.

Hebrews 10:35–36 NKJV
Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:

We had confidence in God when He first saved us, we had confidence in Him to meet our needs, Do not give up now.

The will of God is not the same for everyone. His will for you may not be His will for me, but AFTER.

Hebrews 10:37–38 ESV
For, “Yet a little while, and the coming one will come and will not delay; but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.”

Jesus is coming back in the appointed time, we must continue to live by Faith.

Mark 13:32 NKJV
“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

Perseverance will be rewarded by God. We must keep going in spite of difficulties or with little or no indication of success.

Hebrews 10:38 ESV
but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.”

We must Persevere because AFTER, not before but AFTER we have done the will of God, we might receive the Promise.

Hebrews 10:36 NIV
You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.
