Healing Rejection - Week 2
Healing Rejection - Week 2
I. How To Heal The Hurting Heart - Ways I Can Help A Person To Be Healed
Help Them To Understand The Father’s Love. What is the Father's love?
The only thing that really changes people is the love of God. Goodness of God leads to repentance.
Magnify God and Situations get smaller
Accepted in the Beloved - Ephesian 1:6
God’s provision - God is the source of all things.
Father's find joy in providing for their children, wake up early and stay late so they can give their children a better life; they provide them with an opportunity to understand the love of God ()
Stubbornness and rebellion
Anger toward God
Stubbornness and rebellion
Poverty mentality
“Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
God’s protection - makes the world a safe place; gives us courage to face adversities; show us how to stand up to the enemy ()
But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.
God will never let you go so far you can’t be brought back.
God’s leadership - He loves enough to discipline His children; children take comfort in knowing their father is strong enough to guide them ()
And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons: “My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him; For whom the Lord loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives.”
In many of Paul’s epistles, he uses both soldiers and athletes to teach on the necessity of discipline. In a society with Greek influence in athletics and Roman soldiers everywhere enforcing Rome’s peace, there were strong visual illustrations for this apostle of God to use.
II. Meet Unmet Needs
.
We have been created with a God shaped need that He often uses family and friends to meet. When fallible people fall short, this leaves unmet needs in a person’s soul. God never meant for man to meet all our needs. In fact, it is an unfair expectation for us to have or put another person in. Two of our greatest needs are..
Significance - we have a need to be valued and feel valuable. We learn about our identity by how others interact with us. We are a product of our relationships. First with God then with others.
a. God affirmed Jesus - This is my beloved Son
b. Fathers are God with skin on.
God uses natural examples to show us spiritual principles. Fathers are God with skin on.

17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
(KJV)
5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!”

III. Things That Can Hurt Our Image of Father God
III. Things That Can Hurt Our Image of Father God
— Ignorance of satan’s devices
Satan uses our feelings as a terrible weapon against us. Feeling are not our enemy but the liar(), the accuser(-) and the deceiver() who uses inferiority and rejection to defeat and prevent the Believer from realizing their full potential.
(NIV)
10 If you forgive anyone, I also forgive him. And what I have forgiven--if there was anything to forgive--I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake,
11 in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.
— Seeing people as the enemy – He wants people to see one another as the enemy and attack or reject each other.
(NIV)
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
— Life's tragedies, trials, and difficulties
— Imbalanced teaching that stressed holiness, grace, mercy, judgment, or standards
— Natural father’s shortcomings
IV. Why the Attack against Fathers?
— Earthly fathers are meant to show a picture of how our Heavenly Father loves us.
— Fathers have been given authority to lead their families.
— Children want their dad to be their heroes.
— A woman wants to respect her husband and follow him as he leads her in a Christlike way.
