Trusting in His Presence
Trusting in His Presence
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
You will not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
You will only look with your eyes
and see the recompense of the wicked.
Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place—
the Most High, who is my refuge—
no evil shall be allowed to befall you,
no plague come near your tent.
For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you strike your foot against a stone.
You will tread on the lion and the adder;
the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.
“Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him;
I will protect him, because he knows my name.
When he calls to me, I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”
Psalms 91:1-1

DO YOU TRUST JESUS?
Misplaced trust
Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool,
but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered.
Dwell in the shelter of the almighty by trusting His Word.
Thus says the Lord:
“Cursed is the man who trusts in man
and makes flesh his strength,
whose heart turns away from the Lord.
Jer
Behold, they say to me,
“Where is the word of the Lord?
Let it come!”
Jer
Physical strength fades.
Thus says the Lord:
“Cursed is the man who trusts in man
and makes flesh his strength,
whose heart turns away from the Lord.
Whoever trusts in his riches will fall,
but the righteous will flourish like a green leaf.
Man will let you down.
STEP INTO THE STORY OF HEZEKIAH
Hezekiah, king of Judah
1 Hezekiah began to reign when he was twenty-five years old, and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Abijah the daughter of Zechariah.
2 And he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, according to all that David his father had done.
2 Chronicles 29:
Inherited a Mess!
He Restored Temple Worship. Offered sacrifices of bulls, rams, lambs and goat in accordance to the O/T law to atone for the sins of Israel.
They offered burnt offerings and he stationed the priests with the proper instruments and they worshipped in song and trumpets.
He sent out orders throughout Judah and all of Israel to keep the Passover to the Lord. No excuses! Come to Jerusalem and the priests are ready.
He organizes the priests.
NOW THE TROUBLE COMES

8 With him is an arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God, to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people took confidence from the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.
Sennacherib ridicules the God of Israel
2 Chronicles 32:
10 “Thus says Sennacherib king of Assyria, ‘On what are you trusting, that you endure the siege in Jerusalem?
11 Is not Hezekiah misleading you, that he may give you over to die by famine and by thirst, when he tells you, “The Lord our God will deliver us from the hand of the king of Assyria”?
2 Chronicles 32:
The Lord defends Hezekiah and the people of Jerusalem
2 Chronicles 32:
20 Then Hezekiah the king and Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, prayed because of this and cried to heaven.
21 And the Lord sent an angel, who cut off all the mighty warriors and commanders and officers in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with shame of face to his own land. And when he came into the house of his god, some of his own sons struck him down there with the sword.
Hezekiah dwelt in the shelter of the Most High.
