How should we act toward people who don’t believe in Jesus?

Work the word search.
We come here week after week and read the Bible and listen to what I have to say. We listen to what brother Steven preaches. However, I want you guys to grow into men who can make sound decisions on their own. So, you tell me. How should we treat other people? Especially people who are not at a place where they have accepted Jesus as savior. Let’s hear from you. How should we treat people who haven’t trusted Jesus? What are some of your ideas?
Lets look at what the Bible says
Matthew 5:13–14 NIV
“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.
Remind them of the first verse of our Bible passage today: “You are the salt of the earth. But suppose that salt loses its saltiness. How can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything. It will be thrown out. People will walk all over it.”
Discuss what happens when we get bland food that doesn’t have much taste - what do we do?
Brainstorm together favorite salty foods—examples: French fries and potato chips.
(We try to add seasoning/flavor or throw it out and get something else.)
Share that sometimes, when we’re being honest, we worry that we are like that. Bland. Tasteless. When others see us, they don’t see our faith in a big God. They might not even know that we believe.
Salt are our actions making a difference? our our actions making things better? you know like salt and seasoning makes things taste better?
Salty- sometimes when someone is upset all the time and negitive they are called salty. So, my challenge to you is for you to be salt, and light. not just salty.
Ask them to think about their level of shine. Tell them light bulbs have different wattages–– the higher the number, the brighter the light it creates.
Using just their fingers, challenge them to think about how brightly they are shining in front of others. 1-10. How much glory are they bringing to God in Heaven with the good things they do and the things they say? (Give them a minute to show you with just their fingers.)
Talk about what it would take to bring that number up. They can share out loud or just in their head.
Pray and ask God to forgive them for losing their “saltiness”. Ask Him to help them stand out because of the good things they do and the kind of person they are.
Pray out loud for everyone in the group to shine even brighter this week. Ask God to highlight specific opportunities for them to help and love on others. And then ask God to help them act and not to just stand by or walk away.
Thank God for a chance to make Him look good and for everyone here today.
