How Christians Are to Work

Colossians 3:23

Translation: “And whatsoever ye do, labor from the soul, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”

                                    ποιεω              εργαζομαι               εκ ψυχαι

I.          Every task regardless of our perception of importance matters to God.

            A. Because He is sovereign over all the earth.

            B. Because He is Lord of all.

II.        Christians are not to simply carry out a task without regard to motive or attitude.

            A. God looks on the heart not the outward appearance.

            B. Every task performed is performed for Him.

III.       The same Lord over all will part His inheritance of the same to us.

I take this to be not only a physical or tangible inheritance, but an inheritance of, Position, Honor, Worth, Understanding, Relationship.
