Then, at break of day, the king arose and went in haste to the den of lions.
As he came near to the den where Daniel was, he cried out in a tone of anguish. The king declared to Daniel, “O Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?”

Then Daniel said to the king, “O king, live forever!
My God sent his angel and shut the lions’ mouths, and they have not harmed me, because I was found blameless before him; and also before you, O king, I have done no harm.”
Then the king was exceedingly glad, and commanded that Daniel be taken up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no kind of harm was found on him, because he had trusted in his God.

The Lions in Daniel’s Den
Introduction
Today we are going to take a look at Daniel’s Den—his domain—his way of living under the truth and lordship of God.
In Daniel, we have a person who possessed qualities that demonstrated total loyalty to God and His plan!
The Qualities of Kingdom Living
In Daniel’s Den we find Uncompromising Integrity.
In Daniel’s Den we find Uncompromising Integrity.
Daniel was the real thing. He was a genuine follower of God.
Then the high officials and the satraps sought to find a ground for complaint against Daniel with regard to the kingdom, but they could find no ground for complaint or any fault, because he was faithful, and no error or fault was found in him.
Throughout his life, Daniel lived under the premise to do life in the light of aways honoring God.
Application: The surrendered life is a life that lives to honor God (publically and privately).
In Daniel’s Den we find Strategic Prayer.
In Daniel’s Den we find Strategic Prayer.
Daniel was a man of prayer.
When Daniel knew that the document had been signed, he went to his house where he had windows in his upper chamber open toward Jerusalem. He got down on his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he had done previously.
Dan 6:10
Daniel developed a strategic, deliberate, and committed approach to prayer.
Designated place.
Designated time.
Designated purpose.
This approach to prayer was motivated in honor of God and to walk in obedience to God and His plan.
Example: Jesus
Mark 1:
And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed. And Simon and those who were with him searched for him, and they found him and said to him, “Everyone is looking for you.” And he said to them, “Let us go on to the next towns, that I may preach there also, for that is why I came out.” And he went throughout all Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and casting out demons.
Application: Strategic prayer is essential for the follower of Christ. One simply cannot follow Christ except he/she enters a committed, consistent prayer life.
In Daniel’s Den we find Impressive Threats.
In Daniel’s Den we find Impressive Threats.
Even a man of faith, like Daniel, will face challenges and challenging people.
Then the king commanded, and Daniel was brought and cast into the den of lions. The king declared to Daniel, “May your God, whom you serve continually, deliver you!”
Dan 6:16
This is where faith is tested.
The lions Daniel faced were real—and deadly.
Life lesson: Daniel purposed in his heart to honor God, regardless of whether or not he would survive or not.
Application: As followers of Christ, we will face real threats, real challenges, and real obstacles.
Paul was assaulted.
Peter was arrested.
James was executed.
John was excited.
Jesus was crucified.
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds,
for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.
And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
In Daniel’s Den we find Faithful Obedience.
In Daniel’s Den we find Faithful Obedience.
Although Daniel was willing and ready to die for His faith in God, God chose to use Daniel’s faithful obedience to demonstrates His purpose and power.
Dan 6:
My God sent his angel and shut the lions’ mouths, and they have not harmed me, because I was found blameless before him; and also before you, O king, I have done no harm.”
Daniel continued to demonstrate unwavering obedience and faith in the God who reigns supreme.
His work ethic.
His prayer life.
His faith in the face of adversity.
His victory over pain.
Application: Everyone of us our witnesses and proclaimers of God. The Question is: What are we demonstrating in our witness and are we proclaiming accurately the truth of God by our life?
In Daniel’s Den we find God Glorified
In Daniel’s Den we find God Glorified
Daniel believed God, and that settled it with him.
Then the king was exceedingly glad, and commanded that Daniel be taken up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no kind of harm was found on him, because he had trusted in his God.
Dan 6:
Now, in ancient times, as is now, there is the idea that if now
In Daniel’s Den we find the Glory of God.
When Daniel survived the lion’s den, the King recognized that Daniel’s God is God.
Then King Darius wrote to all the peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth: “Peace be multiplied to you.
I make a decree, that in all my royal dominion people are to tremble and fear before the God of Daniel, for he is the living God, enduring forever; his kingdom shall never be destroyed, and his dominion shall be to the end.
He delivers and rescues; he works signs and wonders in heaven and on earth, he who has saved Daniel from the power of the lions.”
So this Daniel prospered during the reign of Darius and the reign of Cyrus the Persian.
Dan 6:

Conclusion
As followers of Christ, we would learn well to grasp the life and commitment of Daniel:
Integrity
Prayer
The Reality of Threats and Difficulties
Obedience
To God be the Glory.
But, we can’t do this by mere will power or wishful thinking.
We can only do this by placing our complete trust in Jesus Christ.
Though Daniel was an impressive figure, he was imperfect.
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
But, there is One who is perfect in every way: Jesus
It is faith through Christ that gives us the victory.
