Foundation Scriptures: Galatians 5:7-8; Hebrews 12:1-13
I. Rosh Hashanah (Feast of Trumpets) inaugurates “ten days of awe” (for repentance) leading up to Yom Kippur, the day of judgment.
A. How will it be on judgment day when you get to your finish line?
II. You have a race to run!
A. Many have run their race before you and are now cheering you on!
B. Our race is connected to those before us, with us, and after us
C. We have a race to run here at Grace Fellowship: It is called “Fulfilling the Great Commission”
1. Our Mission is to win souls and make disciples.
2. Our Vision is souls and cells.
D. We have a “track” to run on---the Leadership Base Path
E. We have a finish line---fulfilling the call of God on our lives
III. What has hindered you? (Galatians 5:7-8)
A. Unresolved sin issues?
B. Unforgiveness, bitterness, or anger?
C. Difficulties, pressures, discouragement, & distractions?
D. Wrong priorities? (cares of this world, deceitfulness of riches, desire for other things?)
E. Fear or timidity?
F. Procrastination?
IV. Getting back on track (Hebrews 12:1-13)
A. Lay aside every weight (extra burdens that rob us of energy and lead to burnout)
B. Lay aside ever sin (entanglements that bind us up as slaves)
C. Run with endurance
D. Look unto Jesus (Do not focus on people, past, or pride)
1. Philippians 3:12-14
E. Consider Jesus (allow His trials to strengthen your resolve in hard times)
F. Endure the chastening of God (correction and discipline)
G. Strengthen your hands and knees (empowerment)
H. Make straight paths for your feet (get back on track)
