Lead in from Pam (sugar) & Ann (fitness)

Body is a temple to the Holy Spirit (& other scriptures)
Not negating in any way that we have a responsibility to maintain a good level of health & fitness in order to honor the work of the Lord’s hands

Need to nourish your soul/spirit

Just like disease can come from a nutrient-lacking diet, and infirmity can come from lack of movement, there are also consequences from not nourishing our relationship with the God who made humanity the crowning glory in his creation as an expression of his love. We are made to be in a robust, vibrant relationship with the Lord. When that relationship is not functioning as it was intended, things get out of kilter and as a result we suffer.
Contrast food/water lack to spiritual lack

Just like to change your diet & exercise you have to acknowledge your need to change; that what you’re currently doing is not working … so too with your spiritual nourishment - you have to take a good, hard look around and come to the realisation that there’s more purpose & meaning to life than what the world today tells us - that you are unique, individual, different than every other human being on the face of the earth. Why?

God:

is good

wants the best for us

gives as a way to live to the full/abundance

Consequences of no relationship with God

eternal separation

do this life alone - what happens when hard times hit - first question in death becomes a search for God/meaning

never living our full purpose
