Bottomline: Our job is to pass the baton off to the next generation.

Moses and Joshua?
Jesus and His disciples?
Paul to Timothy?

Be present, be prayerful, be persistent, and propel the next generation own their faith in Jesus.

Don’t create a relationship of codependency with your children because Jesus is the only person they truly need/ can depend on.

2 Timothy 3:14–17 NIV
But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

As followers of Jesus our goal isn’t to raise “good kids” its to raise disciples of Jesus.

Matthew 28:18–20 NIV
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Does the way you live propel the next generation toward Jesus or away from Him?
