Where Do We Start?

What is the best way to start a movement or ministry?
How do we get support from the community, friends and family?
What if I fail?
What i
Lets look at how Jesus did it.
Matthew 4:12 KJV 1900
12 Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;
Matthew 4:
We know that John was preparing the way for Jesus to start his ministry. So when Jesus had heard of John’s imprisonment he knew it was time and he moved.
Matthew 4:13–14 KJV 1900
13 And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim: 14 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
We also have a forerunner that has prepared the way for us and if we follow his lead we know when its time to move.
He has already put things into motion for us to follow and if we just listen and follow him we will be his instrument that he uses to save a lost soul.
WE MUST MOVE WHEN GOD SAYS MOVE.
We must be willing to Go.
Jesus knew it was time to go and go is what he did.
he began by moving into a location best suited for his propose.
What was his purpose?
to do the same thing as John had already started
matthew4
Matthew 4:17 KJV 1900
17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Repent!!
Why Capernaum?
the Sea of Galilee is a huge lake that had many little fishing towns around it and this was the biggest and the best spot to get the word out quickly.
ARE YOU WERE GOD HAS CALLED YOU TO BE?
Not only do we need to know our purpose and mission, we need to be in the right place.
So Jesus is in the right place, at the right time.
These are very important things to follow God on if your want to make the biggest impact.
Matthew 4:
Matthew 4:18–22 KJV 1900
18 And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. 19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. 20 And they straightway left their nets, and followed him. 21 And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them. 22 And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.
When you are in the right place at the right time, God will move and people will follow.
Notice they immediately and didn't hesitate.
They left all they knew and followed in faith.
IF WE STEP OUT ON FAITH GOD WILL PROVIDE!
if we faithfully follow Christ he will alway provide for us and bless out miniseries as we go out and proclaim the same message that John and Christ both preached.
REPENT!
Which brings me to my next point.
my next point
GOD HAS CALLED US TO BE FAITHFUL, NOT SUCCESSFUL.
The way God measures success and God does is way different.
take the parable of the seed sower that Christ told.
He never once blamed the sower for were the seeds fell, he was faithful to sow the seeds were he was and left it up to the soil to receive what he was giving.
sometimes we sow in fertile ground and sometimes we don’t, but we still sow the seeds and let God reap the harvest.
I we focus on the return and not being faithful to God’s calling we will never feel as though we are being successful.
EVEN JESUS DID NOT HAVE A 100% SUCCESS RATE!!
remember the rich young ruler? Did Jesus give up on his ministry?
Just be faithful to your calling and do what God has called you to do, when he wants you, where he wants you.
