Jesus is being tempted by Satan
Jesus has been attacked twice by Satan and Jesus has fought him off both times
the first time was physical need, the second was Emotional need or security.
Satan yet again attacks Jesus with another temptation.
this time its with,
Psychological Need.
We all feel the need to have significance in this life.
to have a sense of power or achievement.
we all want to be successful.
matthew 4:
Matthew 4:8
my first Question is,
Did Satan have the power to give Jesus the Kingdoms of the world?
or does he have the power today to give us our desires?
Can he really give us happiness in this world?
Satan could and probably was lying, or could it be because of God giving him free reign over this world because of sinful man, make no mistake Satan does have power in this world and he knows it.
God and Satan both seek the same thing from us.
OUR WORSHIP!
Our
Satan wants to be god, he wants to be in control and he wants us to worship him.
So he used lies and motivation to get us to follow him.
the difference is he doesn't love us, he hate us and wants to put us into bondage.
what Satan is not wanting us to know is his reign over this earth is temporary and his power is limited compared to God’s.
Here in this account Satan tells Jesus if he bows down and worships him he will give him the kingdoms of this world.
He was was actually talking about political reign and power over the kingdoms over this world.
that brings me to my next point.
Satan’s Power is Temporary!
What Satan is not wanting us to know is his reign over this earth is temporary and his power is limited compared to God’s.
Satan tries to get us to bow to him by offering us power and success in this world and make us feel like we have power but it will not last.
this world and Satan’s power is coming to an end and if you seek after these worldly things you will be condemned with it.
So how do we fight against such power?
Fact is we can’t.
we are not strong enough on our own to battle Satan and his armies, but we don’t have to do it alone.
Jesus was not alone.
Matthew 4:
Once again Jesus uses scripture to fight off Satan.
deuteronomy 6:
God wants our total commitment to him!
Jesus
He wants your all and is not willing to share you with Satan.
you can not have this world and all that it offers and serve God. it just doesnt work that way.
you cant serve two masters.
matthew
You can’t have both, Satan wants you to think you can, but that’s not how God works.
Choose God today and he will bless you in the long run.
Jesus knew ot was again
don’t let Satan use you
our God owns it all and he has promised it all to us if we only have faith in him and summit to his will for our lives.
Who do you serve today?
