010 GOD’S FAITHFULNESS, MAN’S REBELLION

Lamentations 3:22–23 KJV 1900

It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Ye have been rebellious against the Lord from the day that I knew you.

In what ways is God faithful?

In what ways are men rebellious?

One of the newly appointed “deacons” in the early church was a Godly man named Stephen.  Because of his powerful ministry he was brought up on trumped up charges.  His sermon stresses two important truths. 

First, God is faithful.

Second, man is rebellious.

I. PRELUDE – ARREST OF STEPHEN – 6:8-15

II. God has been and is faithful

3. God gave him a token of that promise

i. v. 8 God is faithful to keep His promise.

B. CAPTIVITY OF JOSEPH – 7:9-17

There was a purpose of sending Joesph to Egypt

but they didn’t do it

They rebelled against the very God that saved them.

B. POSTLUDE – STONING OF STEPHEN – 7:54-60

Their anger and rebellion wasn’t against Steven but against God.

Rebellion comes from man’s sinful heart.

The bad we see happening into days world is because of man’s rebellion against His Word.

What is going on in the Middle East has to with man’s rebellion against God

What we see happen here in Pickle Lake, drunkeness, imoralaity, has to do with man’s rebellion against God.
