Key Truth
Key Truth
“You were created by a passionate God who loves you and pursued you to make you apart of His family”
So what just happened ?
God ‘s Creation -
Man’s Fall -
Man’s Redemption -
God’s Re-Creation -
What new things should be evident in your life as a follower of Jesus
What is the difference between Relationship & Fellowship ?
Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken: And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men. And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.

Surrender
Surrender
Notice how Peter (Simon) reacts to Jesus’ request and what do we see in his actions
There is some doubt - “toiled all night -caught nothing” plus in the Sea of Galilee you fished at night in the shallow waters .
Your Word - What does Peter(Simon) surrender to ? The Word of Jesus - okay so how is that is applied to my life today.
Doubt is part of this life - saying have more faith is the easy answer but faith is not unfounded , no evidence of faith.
Peter had observed that there was something different about this man , peter a fisherman , Jesus a carpenter but who takes control of the boat.
Recognition
Recognition
We see Peter in this passage fall down at the feet of Jesus in this amazing moment of worship, humility and recognition that this man ( Who proclaims to be God ) is truly who he says he is.
And Jesus went out, and his disciples, into the towns of Caesarea Philippi: and by the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them, Whom do men say that I am? And they answered, John the Baptist: but some say, Elias; and others, One of the prophets. And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answereth and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ.
At some point we have to come to the point where we see Jesus for who he is and was meant to be.
Good teacher, yes , Humanitarian , yes , healer, leader, Historical figure , yes, yes, yes . All great things but not His purpose on this earth. Messiah, Saviour, Redeemer
At some point curiosity must turn to commitment and admiration to adoration
Community
Community
You are not in this alone , you need people and people need you. God never designed mankind to be alone, He quickly established that early on in the Garden.
Discipleship is about being part of a community with a goal of expanding that community.
Obedience
Obedience
At some point following Jesus must come to a place where you are willing to forsake all to follow Him by your actions. We place way to much stock on the words of many and not enough in the actions of few.
Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee. But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.
Matthew 12
The true test of our Salvation will not be measured by prayers, songs, church attendance , money giving . It will be measured in are willingness or lack thereof in follow Jesus and do the will of the Father.
And for 3 years what did Jesus train his followers to do ?
