Mark 7:24–30 NASB95
24 Jesus got up and went away from there to the region of Tyre. And when He had entered a house, He wanted no one to know of it; yet He could not escape notice. 25 But after hearing of Him, a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit immediately came and fell at His feet. 26 Now the woman was a Gentile, of the Syrophoenician race. And she kept asking Him to cast the demon out of her daughter. 27 And He was saying to her, “Let the children be satisfied first, for it is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.” 28 But she answered and said to Him, “Yes, Lord, but even the dogs under the table feed on the children’s crumbs.” 29 And He said to her, “Because of this answer go; the demon has gone out of your daughter.” 30 And going back to her home, she found the child lying on the bed, the demon having left.
(NASB95)
Ill read the same story as record by Saint Matthew
25 But after hearing of Him, a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit immediately came and fell at His feet.
26 Now the woman was a Gentile, of the Syrophoenician race. And she kept asking Him to cast the demon out of her daughter.
27 And He was saying to her, “Let the children be satisfied first, for it is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”
28 But she answered and said to Him, “Yes, Lord, but even the dogs under the table feed on the children’s crumbs.”
29 And He said to her, “Because of this answer go; the demon has gone out of your daughter.”
Matthew 15:21–28 NASB95
21 Jesus went away from there, and withdrew into the district of Tyre and Sidon. 22 And a Canaanite woman from that region came out and began to cry out, saying, “Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David; my daughter is cruelly demon-possessed.” 23 But He did not answer her a word. And His disciples came and implored Him, saying, “Send her away, because she keeps shouting at us.” 24 But He answered and said, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” 25 But she came and began to bow down before Him, saying, “Lord, help me!” 26 And He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.” 27 But she said, “Yes, Lord; but even the dogs feed on the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” 28 Then Jesus said to her, “O woman, your faith is great; it shall be done for you as you wish.” And her daughter was healed at once.
30 And going back to her home, she found the child lying on the bed, the demon having left.

This is one of my favorite stories in the new testament.
To many of you it is very familiar and reading both Matthews and Mark account brings even more power to this very famous event.
I like to title this message a cant stop NOW.
This story is very interesting to me. Especially when I look at it in all of it context.
At the beginning of this chapter we find Jesus battling with a bunch of hypocrites.
They came to him with charges that His disciple where not clean because they did not observe the tradition of the elder.
Because they didn’t observe the Jewish custom of ceremonial hand washing and they counted them as unclean.
Now if you now Jesus like I know Jesus you knows that he is one for foolish tradition.
Jesus said you can honor me all you want with your lips or your deeds but it mean nothing if you heart or far from me.
God is looking at the heart.
You may fool man to think that your in relationship with God by what you do. But you can’t fool God.
Because God doesn’t see things like man sees things.
Man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart.
God not looking for any fakes in the kingdom. He looking for people that have heart.
He is looking for a champion and not a chump.
So He went on preaching to the Pharisees telling them that their tradition have made the world of God of none effect.
And it not what goes in a man that defile him but it what come out.
Obviously sick of the tradition Jesus and his disciple left them and went to a region of the gentile.
Mark’s gospel tells us that Jesus went to a city name Tyre (Now Lebanon) looking for a rest.
Don’t you get tired of religion tire of people trying to argue?
Jesus went to a house told His disciple not to tell any one but the bible says he could not be hid.
last week we talked about Ascribing.
NASB95
1 Ascribe to the Lord, O sons of the mighty, Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. 2 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due to His name; Worship the Lord in holy array.
I would like to say this, that real worship and real worshipers always find Jesus
1 Ascribe to the Lord, O sons of the mighty, Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. 2 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due to His name; Worship the Lord in holy array.
Ascribing is to place value upon and when you know that something that is very valuable is around.. you will seek to find it
Jesus says in
Matthew 7:7 NASB95
7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
Matthew
I would like to say this,
True seeker will always find Jesus.
Because it takes God, to love God and no one comes to God less he be drawn.
Because it takes God, to love God and no one comes to God less he be drawn.
If you want Him at all its because He has first wanted you.
Upon finding Jesus the seeker explodes in worship.
Just like in , when the shepherd find the lost sheep, He rejoices.
when the woman find the lost coin, she celebrate.
when the father finds the lost son, he throws a part.
Bring Joy is found in finding what our heart seeks.
Proverbs 25:2 NASB95
2 It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.
The angels moved their choir loft to a manger and exploded in worship singing.
Luke 2:14 NASB95
14 “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased.”
(NASB95)
Matthew 2:11 NASB95
11 After coming into the house they saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell to the ground and worshiped Him. Then, opening their treasures, they presented to Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
11 After coming into the house they saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell to the ground and worshiped Him. Then, opening their treasures, they presented to Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
They worshipped and they open up their treasures and presented gifts to him, why?
Because they were Ascribing..
Because worship place a value on a thing.
When they found Jesus they worship.
When Anna and Simeon saw Him in the temple they worship
Even when John the Baptist, in His mother womb came into the presence of Jesus
Yes, indeed He was worshiping and you set in this church like a bump on a log
I found Him, He’s here. Lets worship worship.
says ,
And when He had entered a house, He wanted no one to know of it; yet He could not escape notice.
verse 25
25 But after hearing of Him, a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit immediately came and fell at His feet.
Matthew says she was a, “Canaanite woman from that region came out and began to cry out, saying, “Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David; my daughter is cruelly demon-possessed.”
Canaanites were a cursed people.
They were the Descendants of Canaan. Son Of Ham that Noah cursed for not covering his nakedness.
From the Canaanite came Sodom and Gomorrah where homosexuality was great and where there was none righteous in the city and the lord burned with fire.
The Canaanite were the ones who introduces the worship to the God Baal.in the book of Judges.
The queen Jezebel worshiped this god and went to try to kill of the prophet including Elijah.
In the mist of sinner, idolaters, and heathen. Somebody in that city must have been a worshipper.
You never know how your witness may affect someone else.
You singing, your positive attitude, your prayer
In this Gentile heathen city somebody she must have told her about how Jesus turned water in into wine, how he calm the storm, they must have told her about Jesus walking on water, she must have heard that he feed 5,000.
Somebody must have placed value on him.
Somebody was ascribing… someone was magnifying
So much so that she says I have to meet this man, she fell at his feet and worshiped him
I cant stop now!!
Matthew 15:23 NASB95
23 But He did not answer her a word. And His disciples came and implored Him, saying, “Send her away, because she keeps shouting at us.”
Matthew says
says
23 But He did not answer her a word. And His disciples came and implored Him, saying, “Send her away, because she keeps shouting at us.”
But Marks she’s . “ kept asking Him”
Basically, I not going to let the silence stop me from worshiping.
Not not discouraged by the opinions of others
I cant stop now.
Just like Jacob who kept wrestling all night till the Lord touch him and change the way he walked
Just like Moses who lifted his hand and when his hand and were lift they were winning the battle and when his arms would get tired Aaron and Hur held his hand up and the won the battle.
When I worship I war against the enemy and I win.
Just like Joshua and the children of Isreal march around Jericho not one time not 2 times. But each day one time and on the 7th day 7 times then they lifted up a praise and their walls came down.
Sometimes you just need to raise a praise.
She fell at his feet and kept on asking. She was not discouraged by the silences.
And though they tried to send her away she said aint no body gonna stop me from worshipping
I don’t care what they say about me. I don’t care if they are watching I just cant stop now. Im too close to jesus.
24 But He (Jesus) answered and said, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
25 But she came and began to bow down before Him, saying, “Lord, help me!”
she would not take no for answer she bowed down and kept on worshiping
“Lord, Help ME!’’ I know you can do!! HELP Me!
Then he tell her
26 And He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”
He just called this woman a Dog! That wasn’t nice Jesus.
Now she has a decisions to make. To be offend of to keep going.
Jesus Say’ “blessed is he who is not offended because of me.
This remind me of what he says in John for to another woman he meets at a well
John 4:23 NASB95
23 “But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.
(NASB95)
23 “But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.
They worship because they have been revealed a truth. They have experience me.
I looked up the word worship here in the Stong’s Greek Concordance
Worship is the Greek proskuneō; to do reverence to:—bow down(1), bow down before(1), it also mean to kiss like a dog kissing his master’s hand
I ain’t making this up look it up yourself.
He was not insulting her but speaking to her in a way she could understand since the jews didn’t have dogs but the gentile did.
She responds I may be a but even the dog get the crumbs that fall from the master table.
I cant stop now!
God if you give me a crumb I will still worship
She kept worshiping she kept bowing she kept kissing she kept hollering tell she made the lord holler
“O woman, your faith is great; it shall be done for you as you wish.” And her daughter was healed at once.
And mark tells us that
30 And going back to her home, she found the child lying on the bed, the demon having left.
