Before the Glory Comes

Foundation Scripture:            Luke 1:13-17

I.          There is coming a new move of the Spirit

            A.        It will be like a new wine

            B.         We must prepare the way

                        1.         We must experience a fresh infilling of God’s Holy Spirit

                        2.         We must begin to turn back to the Lord our God

                        3.         We must turn our hearts back to our children

                        4.         We must repent of disobedience and return to the wisdom of the just

                        5.         We must become a people prepared for the Lord

C.        We must prepare the new wines skins

                        1.         The old wine is good and it is preserved in the old wine skin

                        2.         The new wine is a new vintage of God’s work in people’s lives

                        3.         The new wine will burst old wine skins

II.        Before Glory comes God’s order

            A.        Creation (Genesis 1:1-3)

            B.         Tabernacle of Moses (Exodus 40:33-35)

            C.        Life of Jesus (John 17:4-5)

III.       Judgment comes to restore God’s order

            A.        In our lives

            B.         In our homes

            C.        In the church

            D.        How does God judge?

                        1.         Washing (Ephesians 5:25-27)

                        2.         Shaking (Hebrews 12:25-28)

                        3.         Fire (I Corinthians 3:9-17; Malachi 3:4-6)

IV.       Is there glory in your home?

            A.        There will not be glory in the church until first there is glory in the homes

            B.         The glory cannot stay in the church until first it can stay in the homes

            C.        It is time to get our homes in order

1.         We must acknowledge that we have disobeyed God’s word and are not following His divine order.  As a result we have experienced the shaking and the fire of God’s judgment.

2.         We must repent of being out of order and outside the presence of God

3.         We must get the sin out

                        4.         We must get our marriages in order

                        5.         We must return our hearts to our children

                        6.         We must invite the Lord back into our homes

                        7.         We must make our homes sanctuaries of His Holy Spirit

            D.        We must bring that glory into the church
