Fruit that Remains:  Raising and Releasing Sons

Pastor Keith Hassell

 

 

Foundation Scripture:   John 15:16;  I Corinthians 4:15; Galatians 3:26-7

 

1.                 We are chosen

2.                 We are appointed

3.                 We are commissioned to

a.                 Go

b.                 Bear fruit (Intercession, witness, testimony, evangelism)

c.                 Have fruit that remains

4.                 Our “fruit” is sons and daughters who bear the image of the Father, who bear the image of Jesus.

a.                 Everything bears fruit after its own kind

5.                 God is restoring the hearts of the fathers to the children and the hearts of the children to their fathers.

6.                 Characteristics of fathers

a.                 They form covenants with God (connecting to destiny and promise)

b.                 They establish identity (name)

c.                 They provide

d.                 They protect (watchmen)

e.                 They nurture (cultivate a positive environment for growth)

f.                   They see destiny and calling in the children

g.                 They lay foundations for success (word of God)

h.                 They correct and discipline (addressing flaws and weaknesses)

i.                   They train (mentor)

j.                   They release sons in the proper time into their destiny

k.                They release the father’s blessing

l.                   They determine inheritance

m.              They are transgenerational (They provide covenant foundations while releasing development of the promise in generations to come)

1)                Abraham - chosen because of faith

2)                Isaac – chosen on the basis of the promise

3)                Jacob -  chosen on the basis of election

7.       Characteristics of sons

a.                 They are sons by birth or by adoption

b.                 There is a heart connection is based on relationship

1)      The spirit of adoption crying “Abba, father”

c.                 They bear the image and likeness of their father

d.                 They are not afraid to be identified with the father

e.                 They care for the fathers house

f.                   They are submitted to the father

g.                 They look to the father for spiritual oversight

h.                 They look to the father for confirmation of destiny

i.                   They embrace the training of the father

1)      Sons are trained for ruling, servants are not

j.                   They carry on the vision of the father (based on covenant)

k.                They embrace the correction and discipline of the father

l.                   They value the father’s blessing

m.              They trust the father’s time of release and empowerment

n.                 They look forward to sharing in the inheritance of the father

o.                 They are transgenerational

1)                They embrace what God has done in the fathers (covenant)

2)                They walk in the promise today

3)                They raise up sons for tomorrow
