Fall Kick-Off Service

 Whitehorse Baptist Church "2017 Fall Kick-Off" "ENCOURAGING BOLDNESS IN OUR YOUTH" (1 TIMOTHY 4:6-16) STUDY QUESTIONS 1. Preparation a. When you hear the word, "boldness" what comes to mind? b. Describe someone who has a bold faith. How do they speak and act? What's their life look like? 2. Examination a. Read 1 Timothy 4:6-16 together. b. Paul chose to invest in Timothy while he was still a teenager. Why chose someone so young? c. In verse 7, Paul advises Timothy to, "Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths." What irreverent, silly and/or mythical information do youth struggle with today? 3. Reflection a. Adam talked about an older gentleman named 'Bill' that lived near his Bible College, and who invested time in students, both Believers and unbelieving guests to the school. Why doesn't this happen more regularly in the church? What barriers do we need to address? b. Verse 12, Paul indicates that though Timothy is young, he could be an example to other Believers. Have you ever looked up to a teenager? Why or why not? 4. Implementation a. How can you individually or as a group, help Adam in the Youth and/or College & Career Ministries? Share your thoughts, ideas and potential plans. b. Take some time to pray specifically for Adam, his new team and the students.
