Positioning People For Their Healing

1. Help Them To Have Intimate Relationship With God And Experience His Love. Each person has to make the decision to change.
— Get connected to a church family.
— Help them grow in their understanding of the Bible.
— Introduce them to other strong believers
— Encourage them in their worship
— Teach them to pray.
— Worship times are important
— Journaling their progress
2. Understanding Their Identity In Christ
— Royal Priests ()
— His Beloved Sons ()
3. Solve the Identity Issues
— Find out what the person is basing their self image upon
— If it is based on anything other than the Word of God, it can be shaken.
4. Praying For Their Perception And Inner Healing
— Pray the blindness off people’s minds
(KJV) 3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
(NIV) 18 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
5. Loving Them While Considering Yourself
There is a place in our hearts that God uses people to fill, yet we must always remember that it is God who meets the need. He is the Messiah not us.
(NIV) 1 Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted.
(KJV) 16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
— Meet unmet needs in the person’s heart
— Show them unconditional love with boundaries
— Ease crushing burdens for them but allow them to carry responsibility that allows them to grow.
6. Helping Them With Spiritual Disciplines
The ability of God to change a life is expedited by humility.
— A broken and contrite spirit
— Before honor comes humility
— Gods grace is for the humble
— Jesus found favor with God and man because He submitted to His natural parents
People change when they...
— Learn enough
— Grow enough
— Hurt enough
7. Unraveling Ungodly Beliefs
Our belief systems are the foundation of our decisions, attitudes, behavior, judgments, expectations, vows and oaths. Godly beliefs are in agreement with God’s truth (His Word). Ungodly beliefs are not in agreement and are like weeds that sap the life, and undermine the foundation of our decisions, attitudes, behavior, judgments, expectations, vows and oaths. We can help people by looking for their ungodly beliefs and helping them to be in agreement with the truth.
— Search for attitudes not based in God’s truth
— Surround them with so much truth to them there is no room for the lies
— Become well acquainted with predicting satan’s strategy against the person you are ministering to.
— Help them create accountability for themselves.
8. Affirmation
— Speak the word of God over them
— Give specific examples of things done right
— Point out things about them, their efforts and character that are admirable.
9. Exercise Authority Over Spirits Of Rejection
(NIV) 1 When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases,
(NIV) 17 The seventy-two returned with joy and said, "Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name." 18 He replied, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. 20 However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."
10. Encourage Them To Give Of Themselves Freely To Other Hurting People
— A listening ear is rarely rejected
— Give genuine compliments
— Acts of kindness are usually returned
