Foundation Scripture: Ephesians 5:22-33

I. Home Field Advantage is the advantage a sports team has when it plays the game on its own turf.

II. Home Field Advantage is the advantage a family has against the devil when they have made their house God’s home. Its not easy to win when you are fighting the devil on his turf.

III. Homes are under attack by the devil today. Whether or not you win will depend upon whether or not you have given your home to the Lord Jesus.

A. Joshua 24:15 “But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

IV. Home Field Advantage means having God’s order:

A. I Corinthians 11:3 “But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.”

B. Ephesians 6:1-2 “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ‘Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with a promise.”

V. Home Field Advantage means walking in the fruit of the Spirit

A. Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.”

B. Ephesians 5:25 “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her.”

C. Healthy relationships

VI. Home Field Advantage means having God’s blessing and favor. How we lose God’s blessing and favor:

A. Words we speak

B. Attitudes we keep

C. The company we keep (television, radio, movies, etc.) I Corinthians 15:33 “Do not be deceived: Evil company corrupts good morals.”

D. Unforgiveness

E. Sin, pride, compromise, excuses

VII. Home Field Advantage is having Jesus in your home

A. Prayer

B. Praise

C. Word

VIII. Receive Christ into your home and life and get immediate Home Field Advantage
