I. Your promised land is devil possessed

A. The promised land in the Old Testament was possessed by the Philistines and other tribes

II. Jesus was manifested to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8)

III. It is the anointing that breaks the devils yoke

A. Isaiah 10:27 “It shall come to pass in that day that his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, and his yoke from your neck. And the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.”

B. Luke 4:18-19 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

C. Acts 10:38 “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.”

IV. The anointing makes you the devil’s target

A. When the Philistines heard of David’s new anointing as king, they came looking for him.

B. When Jesus was anointed by the Holy Spirit, He was immediately led by the Holy Spirit to be tempted by the devil.

C. Satan comes as the spirit of anti-Christ (anti-Anointed One)

D. Don’t allow the devil’s backlash to get you off course

E. The anointing makes you the devil’s target, but it also enables you to destroy the works of the devil

V. How to respond to a counter-attack of the devil

A. Recognize that the enemy will attack the anointing on your life

B. Run to the stronghold, who is the Lord (Psalm 18:2; 91)

C. Ask the Lord how to handle the counter-attack (War or wait?)

D. Obey the Lord in faith

VI. Declare that God is Master of the Breakthrough
