I Have Set Watchmen on Your Walls

Pastor Keith Hassell

 

 

Foundation Scripture:  Isaiah 62:6-12

 

I.                   Watchmen (Hebrew shawmar) means to hedge about to protect

II.                They shall never hold their peace day or night (i.e. “silence”)

III.             They shall make mention of the Lord (i.e. to bring God into remembrance)  Moses brought God into remembrance of His covenant so as not to destroy the people of Israel during a plague

IV.            They give the Lord no rest (persistence)

V.               Until He establishes and makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth

VI.            The promise God is reminded of (verse 8-9)

a.      No longer will I give your grain as food for your enemies

b.     No longer will the sons of foreigners drink your new wine

c.     Those who gather it shall eat it and praise the Lord

d.     Those who brought it together shall drink it in My holy courts

VII.         Prepare the way

a.      Go through the gates (outreach)

b.     Prepare the way for the people (Ladder of Success)

c.     Build up the highway (School of leaders)

d.     Take out the stones (Encounters)

e.      Lift up a banner for the peoples (Cells evangelism)

VIII.      Message

a.      Your salvation is coming

b.     His reward is with Him

c.     His work goes before Him

IX.            They shall call them

a.      The Holy People

b.     The Redeemed of the Lord

c.     Sought Out

d.     City not Forsaken
