It Came To Pass
Luke 8:22-25
On this past week the state of Texas was hit with a devastating Hurricane name Harvey.
What began as a tropical depression quickly grew to a category 4 hurricane.
What makes this such a devastating hurricane was fact that after making landfall stalling for days, dumping more than 51 inches of rain, with sustained winds at more than 130mph.
Here is a certain fact it doesn’t matter how strong a storm is, if it lasts long enough can seem very devastating.
Sometimes it seems like the storm will not come to an end.
(Every storm runs out of rain and loses intensity!)
In our text this morning Jesus has just finished a long day of teaching.
As his disciples would soon find out after great teaching must come great testing.
As one commentator quoted, “It is one thing to learn a new spiritual truth, but quite something else to practice that truth in the everyday experiences of life.”
Satan’s job is not only to get us to doubt the word of God but to hinder us from living it as well!
If you can ever get to the point where you believe and live it then you can be victors!
We must learn to listen and take head when God is speaking.
Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake.
And they launched forth.
22 Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake.
And they launched forth.
Let us go over unto the other side in the original Greek translates it this way “to go through or pass through.”
It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.
No matter how bad their surroundings were what they had with them was greater than what they had around them!
If we would learn to change our position in our condition, then God can change our conclusion!
