Deliver us from evil

A.               Satan is the mastermind of evil

1.          Deliver us from evil, literally, “the evil one”

2.          John 17:15 (NKJV) /“//I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.”/

3.          2 Thessalonians 3:3 (NKJV) /“//But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.”/

B.                Satan works in many ways

1.          Accuser (slanderer)

2.          Adversary (enemy)

3.          Deceiver

4.          Devil (author of evil)

5.          Thief

7.          Destroyer

8.          Father of lies

C.               Satan does not work alone

What is “evil”?

A.               Evil is the opposite of good

B.                Evil is the absence of good

C.               Evil is the absence of God who is good

1.          Exodus 33:18-19 (NKJV) /“//And he said, ‘Please, show me Your glory.’

19 Then He said, ‘I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you.

I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.’”/

2.          Deuteronomy 31:17 (NKJV) /“Then My anger shall be aroused against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide My face from them, and they shall be devoured.
