Speaking to the Rock

Pastor Keith Hassell

Foundation Scripture:   Numbers 20:1-13; 1 Corinthians 10:1-4

I.       The River (“life”) of the vision is found in the Rock, who is Christ

II.      In the first episode where the people need water, Moses was commanded to strike the rock.  Christ was smitten of God for us.

III.     In the second episode where the people need water, Moses was commanded to speak to the rock.  This speaks of prophesying to the Spirit of Christ in believers.

IV.     In the vision, people who are saved need to speak to the Rock of Christ in the hearts of God’s people

V.      God has placed a rod in your hand (delegated authority)

          A.      In your body

          B.      In your marriage

          C.      In your children

          D.      In your Lighthouse

          E.      In your G12

VI.     Do not sin against the Rock

          A.      Do not strike out in anger

          B.      Do not try to bring results in your own power

          C.      The place was called “Meribah” which means, “contention.”

          D.      Striking out to get results only produces contention

VII.    We must exercise our authority (take up the rod)

VIII.  Gather the people over whom you have authority

IX.     Speak to the Rock before their eyes

X.      Prophesy to the Rock, and the Rock will yield its water, it will give life to the dry weary bones!
