The Glory of Zion

Pastor E. Keith Hassell

Foundation Scripture:  Isaiah 35:1-10

I.                   God is preparing His people to walk in His glory

A.               God will judge the nations

B.                God’s judgment begins in His house with His people

1.          1 Peter 4:17-18 “For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18 Now If the righteous one is scarcely saved, where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?’”

2.          Hebrews 12:3-11 God chastens His children so that they might become partakers of His holiness

C.               The difference between God’s judgment and His chastening is that judgment finalizes the condemnation while chastening corrects error so that, if heeded, glory rather than judgment will take place

D.               The chastening of our Heavenly Father is intended to bring us to glory

E.                This glory is already prepared for those who will walk in it
