Stand your Ground
This short sermon is built to present the gospel to teens and encourage unity within the diversity of the youth group. Although, there is not persecution going on in the West, this sermon is going to attemt to bridge the gap from the original audience to the contemporary audience by focusing on the purpose of unity - God's glory and our joy. Although there could be many sermons preached on this large passage, this sermon is a one day occassion (not a sermon series), with a time period of 30 minutes. The audience is made up of approximatly 5 groups of youth. 1. People who ave a knowledes of God and agree that he exist, but see all religions as the same thing, namely just a set of rules to oppress those who submit to it. 2. People who go to church and have a knowledge of the work of God through Jesus, even agreeing that it took place, but do not show they trust in it. 3. People who are not sure what they believe - they have never thought about it. 4. People who claim they don't believe. What all four of these groups have in common is that they all like feeling like they belong to the club (so to speak) and in the end since God is love it will all pan out. 5. People who are regenerated full believers/followers of Jesus Christ.
